Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras is held every year on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Other names Mardi Gras is called is Fat Tuesday, Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday. It marks the end of Carnival. The Maison Dupuy Hotel is located in the residential part of the French Quarter and is about two blocks from Bourbon Street. The hotel is a former townhouse converted into a hotel, it stands five stories and is one of the popular hotels in the French Quarter. The hotel has a courtyard filled with plants and a three level fountain in front. Located inside the hotel is the famous restaurant Dominique’s Restaurant. Historical Places In New Orleans
One of the most beautiful places to visit when you come to New Orleans is called the Beauregard-Keyes House and Garden. This home was built in 1826; the original home was reconstructed from a cottage and made into the now famous house. The home was originally owned by author, Frances Parkinson Keyes and Confederate Army General Pierre G.T Beauregard. The tour is conducted inside the main house and the servants’ rooms as well. The rooms are filled with Ms. Keyes books, antiques and heirlooms. An interesting note is that Ms. Keyes lived in the servants’ quarters. read more..

French Quarter
One of the oldest sections of New Orleans is the French Quarter. This is also the most frequented section in all of New Orleans. People come from all over the country and some travel overseas to visit one of the oldest parts in the United States. The French Quarter was first introduced in 1718 and later the city of New Orleans was actually planned around the French Quarter.
